The Solar System       

The earth in which we live is part of the solar system. This is called the solar system because everything goes around the sun. The sun is the center of the solar system. There are eight planets in the solar system

That is Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. There are four planets on smaller inner parts, namely, Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars, basically consisting of rocks and metals. Then there are the two largest sized planets, Jupiter and Saturn. Most of it consists of ice, such as water, ammonia and methane.

They all move around the sun. The sun is actually a star. He has his own light. But planets are not stars. They do not have their own light. The planets get light from the sun.
